Builder installation / update

Update On-Premises

Setup builder CRON in order to keep your builder up-to-date.

If you want to update builder instantly, then take the following steps:

  1. Login to builder server console per SSH.
  2. Run the following command:
    cd [BUILDER_DIR] && php index.php /api/update-builder
    where replace "[BUILDER_DIR]" with a real path where you have builder installed.
    3. Note:
    If you have multiple PHP versions on server and PHP CLI version differs from PHP WEB version used by builder then specify correct PHP executable in CRON command. For example:
    cd [BUILDER_DIR] && /usr/bin/php7 index.php /api/update-builder
Notes:
  • If using PHP version less than 5.6 for on-premises builder, then the builder will not be updated to a higher than 4.0.86 version.
  • If using PHP version less than 7.1 for on-premises builder, then the builder will not be updated to a higher than 4.2.13 version.
  • If you get message "Builder update is already running" when running the command, then it means the builder update command was run recently by builder cron or manually by you, and the last update process is not finished yet. However, sometimes this message may mistakenly be shown, when the latest project was interrupted and not ended correctly. To reset it, remove the file "[builder]/assets/lock/cron-update-builder.lock" and run the command again.
  • If due to some reason update fails you can try to update builder manually. After manual update is complete update process described in this part should start working.
