How to lock a financial period?

General Ledger → Period Closing
This module is used to lock a specific period, for example, a financial year.
To lock a period, click the button Button to lock period in General Ledger module

1. Lock the entire period with all corresponding accounts:
Fill in only the “Closing date” field — this specifies the date up to which all entries will be locked, then click “Save.”
No entries can be created or modified up to the specified date:

2. Lock only selected corresponding accounts:
Fill in the fields “Closing date” and “Corresponding account code,” then click “Save.”
This will lock entries for the selected accounts up to the specified date.

Note: To unlock a period, go to General Ledger → Period Closing and delete the locking record.
