When calculating the average salary (VDU) for vacation or in the case of termination: The last 3 months are taken if the employee has worked for that long.If the date of termination is the last day of the month, that month is included in the VDU calculation. In this case, first all accruals related to the salary are calculated, and only then is the compensation for unused vacation calculated.According to the Description of the Procedure for Calculating Average Salary (approved by Resolution No. 496 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of June 21, 2017): When the last day of work at the company (day of termination) for an employee being dismissed coincides with the last working day of that month according to the employee's work (shift) schedule, this month is included in the calculation period.If the employee has worked for less than 3 months, only the time actually worked is calculated.According to the Description of the Procedure for Calculating Average Salary (approved by Resolution No. 496 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of June 21, 2017): If an employee has worked at the company for less than 3 months, their average daily salary or average hourly salary is calculated from the salary calculated for the time actually worked at the company.If there was no accrued salary during the period, the contractual salary and the due working days are used.According to the Description of the Procedure for Calculating Average Salary (approved by Resolution No. 496 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of June 21, 2017): If an employee did not work during the calculation period and did not receive a salary at the company from which, according to the Description, the average daily salary or average hourly salary must be calculated, it is determined from the salary amounts set for the employee in the employment contract or labor law norms during the calculation period, and for persons with whom employment contracts are not concluded – from the salary (remuneration) amounts established by law, dividing them by the number of working days (hours) according to the employee's work (shift) schedule during the calculation period.If an employee is hired and dismissed in the same month – only that month's accruals are taken; therefore, when calculating unused vacation for such an employee, it is necessary to first calculate all accruals related to the salary, and only then calculate the compensation for unused vacation.
